Everyone has stress and anxiety; how you manage your stress is a choice. We can quickly become overwhelmed with every day living. I am no different from anyone else. The only difference, most times, I am aware when I am entering into a stress and anxiety zone. To defuse my tension, I participate in physical activities that quiet my anxiety, such as walking; to calm my mind, meditation is essential for me.
Most Illnesses Triggered by Stress and Anxiety
Since 2006 I have given approximately 13,000 healing sessions, and I notice that most illnesses triggered by chronic stress. We all experience short-term stress from everyday living, but when stress becomes prolonged, it can affect every aspect of our physical, emotional, and spiritual being.
Where Does Stress Come From?
Our most significant daily stressors are caused by not having enough time or life balance. We worry too much or have too much fear about job security, health, finances, work, relationships, and not having enough peace and joy. These types of stress cause the body to go into overdrive and produce too many stress hormones and prevent them from returning to balance and homeostasis. If the body has been on high alert for a long time, it can be harder for the brain and body to revert to a state of relaxation. The twelve body systems (cardiovascular, digestive, endocrine, immune, integumentary, lymphatic, muscular, nervous, reproductive, respiratory, skeletal, and urinary) are affected by stress. Stress has been known to be the primary cause of cardiovascular problems, as well as digestive issues.

- The heart to beat faster and increase blood flow to the brain
- The breathing to quicken and bring more oxygen to the muscles and brain
- Your strength to drastically increase

- Your digestion to stop so that energy redirected where needed
